How to read a certificate of analysis: batch, purity, laboratory

What a certificate of analysis says and how to check it against the vial before paying.

What is a certificate of analysis

A certificate of analysis (COA) is issued by the manufacturer’s laboratory for a specific batch. It lists the batch number, date, test method and purity result.

What to look at

  • Batch number — must match the number on the vial label.
  • Test method — usually HPLC and mass spectrometry.
  • Test date and expiry date — the batch should be fresh.
  • Laboratory signature and details.

Where to get it

The certificate is on every product page in the “Certificates” section. Download it and check before paying. If the number does not match, write to us — we will replace it.
